The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XQAHX-A4XY or 489XQAHXA4XY, mounts directly to an 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec. The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the adapter plate found on earlier designs, reducing potential leak paths and cutting installation time. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round configuration with key. Shift is wire/cable mechanical. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm); shaft power is 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Strong tapered bearings replace the needle bearings used on comparable designs for greater load-bearing capability. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series.
