The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the need for an adapter plate, removing a potential leak path. Intermittent torque capacity for the 489 Series is 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm), and shaft power output is 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. The output is a rotatable SAE B 4-bolt flange with a 7/8" 13-tooth SAE B shaft. Internal components are common with the 442 Series, and the 489 is available with a wire/cable mechanical shift.
