The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489ZHITX-V5XQ or 489ZHITXV5XQ, mounts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening on most manual transmissions, including Eaton Fuller, Volvo, and Mack, without an adapter plate. The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the adapter plate leak path common on other PTOs. Output shaft is a 1-1/4" round with key. Shift is wire/cable mechanical. The 489 Series shares internal parts with Chelsea's 442 Series, and its tapered bearings deliver greater load-bearing capability than needle-bearing designs. Shaft power is rated at 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Typical applications include utility trucks, dump trucks, snow and ice removal equipment, and fire and rescue vehicles.
