The Chelsea 878 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 878XGFJP-M5XV or 878XGFJPM5XV, is a constant-mesh PTO engineered to fit Allison and CAT 10-bolt transmissions. Built as an evolution of the 877 Series platform, the 878 Series introduces a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron and an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load and reduce vibration damage from modern engine designs. Steel disc thickness within the clutch pack has been increased by 80%. The unit supports up to 670 lb-ft of torque in both intermittent and continuous-duty applications, offers nine speed ratios including low and high speeds, and includes a hose so no separate order is needed. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce clearance and interference issues, and the Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times.
