Eaton output side gear 127645 is a differential gear that splines to the axle shaft and transfers torque from the differential case out to the wheel end. Side gears mesh with the spider (pinion) gears inside the differential case, so they see constant load any time the axle is driving or the wheels are turning at different speeds during a turn. Replace side gears in matched condition with the mating spider gears and thrust washers for correct backlash and tooth contact.
