The Muncie SH8D-S6812-A1EX or SH8DS6812A1EX is an air shift power take-off from the Muncie SH Series, designed for high-torque truck applications that fall between the TG and 82 Series in capacity. The integral air shift design eliminates the exposed air cylinder, and the 8-bolt cast iron housing mounts securely to the transmission. Depending on the speed ratio selected, intermittent torque ratings reach 400 ft-lb (542 Nm) at the .05 and .07 ratios, stepping down to 325 ft-lb (441 Nm) at the .12 and .13 ratios.
