Muncie TG8S-U6813-A1BH or TG8SU6813A1BH is a TG8 Series PTO with an 8-bolt housing. The TG Series is Muncie's double-gear power take-off, with a die-cast aluminum housing, a constant mesh input gear that isolates the transmission from engagement errors, and an extra large shift cover opening for checking backlash. It carries engine power through the transmission to auxiliary equipment such as a hydraulic pump, a common job in heavy-duty truck drivelines. Because it shares oil with the transmission, it is normally checked whenever the transmission oil is changed, and if the gears and bearings look sound when it is opened up, a fresh shaft seal and gaskets are the usual parts to replace.
