The Chelsea 890 Series was developed to address pump clearance challenges on Allison 3000 and 4000 Series equipped trucks. Unlike a standard side-mounted PTO with an extension, the 890 is a single-unit design with a one-piece mainshaft, eliminating the intermediate input splines that are a common wear point. The clutch is positioned at the rear of the PTO housing, allowing the gear section to sit tight against the transmission and preserve frame-rail clearance. The rear-mounted SAE C pump flange, combined with Wet Spline Technology, makes this series well suited for continuous-duty applications such as aerial work platforms, pumper cleaners, and fire and rescue apparatus.
