The 288 Series is rated for continuous duty torque up to 390 lb-ft, with nine available speed ratios spanning low and high ranges. Ductile iron bearing caps replace the gray iron used in the predecessor 287 Series, delivering 117% greater strength. An O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap reduces vibrational effects and improves clamp load.
