The Chelsea 288GMFJP-M8RS or 288GMFJPM8RS is a 10-bolt, constant mesh power take-off from the 288 Series platform. Built on the same foundation as the 281 Series, the 288 Series delivers a single continuous duty torque rating of up to 390 lb-ft with wider gears and larger-capacity bearings than its predecessor. The cast iron housing carries rotatable cast iron flanges to reduce interference clearance issues. Ductile iron bearing caps replace the gray iron found on earlier units and are 117% stronger. An O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap reduces vibration-related clamp load loss. The round output shaft (1-1/4 in. with key) features a positive stop design that protects the oil seal from coupling damage. A hose is included. Nine speed ratios span low and high ranges.
