The Chelsea 272GKAJX-13XD or 272GKAJX13XD is a 6-bolt hot shift power take-off from the Chelsea 272 Series, a medium-duty PTO line engineered to consolidate and replace the earlier 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 series units. This unit shifts pneumatically or via PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic) and mounts to transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, and RAM, among others. The 1-1/4" round output shaft accepts a 5/16" key. Continuous torque capability reaches 300 lb-ft (407 Nm); intermittent torque is rated 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm). Output power exceeds 56 HP (41-50 kW). The 272 Series includes an integral air control valve and features rotatable flanges for flexible installation. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates six previous Chelsea medium-duty PTO series into a single platform. The 272 line offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options, making it one of the most flexible 6-bolt hot shift PTOs available for medium-duty vocational trucks. Typical applications include aerial lift trucks, towing and recovery vehicles, construction equipment, and water trucks. Direct-mount configurations are available with an optional Wet-Spline interface for extended PTO and pump shaft service life.
