The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489XRAHX-A5RE or 489XRAHXA5RE, is a mechanical-shift PTO designed for 8-bolt manual transmission openings on most Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec transmissions. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt aperture, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. The 489 Series carries an intermittent torque rating of 201-300 lb-ft and uses strong tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for greater load capacity. Output is through a 1-1/4" round keyed shaft. Shift actuation is wire/cable mechanical. Applications include utility trucks, dump trucks, snow and ice removal equipment, and fire and rescue vehicles.
