The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off 489XRDAX-A3XD or 489XRDAXA3XD is an 8-bolt mechanical shift PTO designed for most manual transmissions, including Eaton Fuller, Eaton Endurant, Mack, and Tremec. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for a separate adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Intermittent torque rating for the 489 Series runs 201 to 300 lb-ft (301 to 400 Nm), with output power in the 46 to 55 HP range. The output shaft is a round 1-1/4 inch keyed shaft. Strong tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-carrying capability. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series.
