The Chelsea 272 Series PTO Assembly, part number 272GBHVP-G3RE or 272GBHVPG3RE, is a 6-bolt hot-shift power take-off designed for medium-duty vocational applications including aerial, construction equipment, towing and recovery, and water trucks. It features a 1-1/4" round output shaft with a 5/16" key and supports both pneumatic (air) and hydraulic PowerShift engagement. Continuous torque capability reaches 300 lb-ft (407 Nm), with intermittent ratings in the 201-300 lb-ft range. Shaft power output at 1,000 RPM is rated at 57 HP (43 kW). The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates the earlier 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series PTOs into a single medium-duty platform. The series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options. The integral air control valve is included, and rotatable flanges allow flexible installation orientation. An optional Wet-Spline configuration is available within the 272 Series for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. A Smart-Start option is also available for high-torque start-up conditions.
