The Chelsea 272 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 272GBHVP-G3RK or 272GBHVPG3RK, is a 6-bolt hot shift PTO designed for medium-duty applications. It uses pneumatic shift (PowerShift) and mounts to transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, and RAM, among others. The output is a 1-1/4" round shaft with a 5/16" key. Continuous torque capability reaches 300 lb-ft (407 Nm), with intermittent ratings in the 201-300 lb-ft range. Shaft power output is rated at 29 HP at 500 RPM and 57 HP at 1,000 RPM. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates several earlier medium-duty hot shift PTO lines, including the 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 series, into a single updated platform. The 272 Series offers nine speed ratios and 18 shift options. Direct-mount configurations are available with an optional Wet-Spline design for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations include the Smart-Start feature for high-torque start-up conditions. Flanges are rotatable for flexible installation.
