The Chelsea 272 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 272XDAJP-B5BD or 272XDAJPB5BD, is a 6-bolt hot-shift PTO built for medium-duty truck applications including aerial, construction, towing and recovery, and water truck service. The 272 Series consolidates earlier Chelsea medium-duty PTO lines into one platform rated for up to 300 lb-ft of continuous torque and 201-300 lb-ft intermittent torque. This unit features a 1-1/4" round output shaft with a 5/16" key and supports pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic) actuation. The Chelsea 272 Series was designed to replace and consolidate several earlier Chelsea medium-duty PTO lines, including the 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series. The 272 platform offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options. Direct-mount configurations are available with an optional Wet-Spline design for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations can be specified with the Smart-Start feature for high-torque start-up conditions. The integral air control valve ships with the unit.
