The Chelsea 272 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 272XKDAX-P5XD or 272XKDAXP5XD, is a 6-bolt hot shift PTO designed for medium-duty applications. It features a 1-1/4" round output shaft with a 5/16" key and supports pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic) engagement. Continuous torque capability reaches 300 lb-ft (407 Nm), with intermittent torque rated at 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm). Output power exceeds 56 HP (41-50 kW), with shaft power of 29 HP at 500 RPM and 57 HP at 1,000 RPM. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates and replaces the earlier 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series medium-duty hot shift PTOs into a single versatile platform. The series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options. Direct mount outputs are available with optional Wet-Spline technology for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations include the Smart-Start option, engineered for high-torque start-up conditions. Rotatable flanges add mounting flexibility.
