The Chelsea 272XPESX-A3XD or 272XPESXA3XD is a 272 Series Hot Shift power take-off assembly with a 6-bolt mounting configuration. This series consolidates several earlier medium-duty Chelsea PTO lines into one design rated for up to 300 lb-ft (407 Nm) continuous torque and 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm) intermittent torque. The output is a 1-1/4" round shaft with a 5/16" key. Shift options include pneumatic (air) and PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic), with an integral air control valve built in. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates earlier Chelsea medium-duty hot shift PTO designs, including the 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 series, into a single updated platform. The series offers nine speed ratios, 18 shift options, and both direct-mount and driveshaft output configurations. Direct-mount versions offer an optional Wet-Spline design for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output versions include the Smart Start feature for applications with demanding high-torque start-up requirements. Rotatable flanges allow flexible installation positioning.
