The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off (PTO), part number 281GDKVP-B3RK or 281GDKVPB3RK, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift unit designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly found on Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. Built as an evolution of the 280 Series, the 281 features a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an enhanced clutch pack with 80% thicker steel discs to resist premature tooth wear, and an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load and reduce vibrational effects. Nine speed ratios cover low and high-speed demands. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference issues at pump mounting.
