The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GGFJP-D3RS or 281GGFJPD3RS, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly found on Allison transmissions. The 281 Series is an evolution of the 280 Series, carrying forward a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron and an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load. Steel discs within the clutch pack are 80% thicker than the predecessor design, helping resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios covering both low and high ranges give this unit flexibility across fire and rescue, refuse, pumper cleaner, and truck crane applications.
