The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GGFJW-B8RK or 281GGFJWB8RK, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly used on Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. An evolution of the proven 280 Series, the 281 Series carries a continuous torque rating of 390 lb-ft and delivers nine speed ratios spanning low and high ranges. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and resists vibrational damage from modern engine designs. Steel discs within the clutch pack are 80% thicker than the predecessor design to resist premature tooth wear. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and the Positive Stop feature on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling.
