281GGFJW-G5RF Chelsea PTO Assembly

The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GGFJW-G5RF or 281GGFJWG5RF, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO designed for 10-bolt automatic transmissions, including Allison applications. It is an evolution of the 280 Series, with a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and an 80% thicker steel disc clutch pack to resist premature tooth wear. The 281 Series carries a single, continuous duty torque rating and offers nine speed ratios spanning low and high speeds. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference fit issues at the pump flange, and a Positive Stop feature on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling contact. Wet Spline Lubrication is available as an option, providing 7 to 10 times greater shaft life. SmartStart reduces shock load at start-up for compatible applications, and the Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects driven equipment.
