The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GSFJP-B3SD or 281GSFJPB3SD, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison transmissions. It mounts directly to the transmission and supports continuous-duty operation across nine speed ratios covering both low and high ranges. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and resists vibration from modern engine designs. The enhanced clutch pack uses steel discs 80% thicker than the previous 280 Series design. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects downstream driven equipment, while the optional wet spline lubrication delivers 7 to 10 times greater shaft life.
