The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GSFJP-B3XD or 281GSFJPB3XD, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, including Allison and Caterpillar applications. It is an evolution of the 280 Series, carrying a series continuous torque rating of 390 lb-ft (529 Nm). The 281 Series adds a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an o-ring sealing configuration between housing and bearing cap for improved clamp load, and an 80% increase in clutch pack steel disc thickness to resist premature wear. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and the Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times.
