The Chelsea 282XKAJX-15RK or 282XKAJX15RK is a medium-duty hot shift Power Take-Off from the Chelsea 282 Series, a redesigned line that consolidates the best elements of earlier medium-duty Chelsea PTOs. The 282 Series supports intermittent torque ratings from 201 to 300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm) and uses an 8-bolt mounting configuration. Shift options include pneumatic and hydraulic (PowerShift), with an integral air valve built in. Output shaft choices within the series include a 1-1/4 in. round shaft with 5/16 in. key and a 1 in. round shaft with 1/4 in. key. Rotatable flanges and an optional Wet-Spline output help extend PTO and pump shaft service life. Common application markets include aerial equipment, towing and recovery, construction, water trucks, and fuel oil delivery. The Chelsea 282 Series was developed as a redesign of Chelsea medium-duty hot shift PTOs, combining the 238 Series with updated components. The 282 Series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift configurations. A Smart Start option is available for high-torque start-up conditions. The driveshaft output includes a positive stop to help prevent seal damage from driveshaft yokes.
