The Chelsea 282XKAJX-A5RS or 282XKAJXA5RS is a medium-duty hot-shift PTO assembly from the Chelsea 282 Series, compatible with Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and other transmission applications. It mounts via an 8-bolt pattern and uses a 1-1/4" round output shaft with a 5/16" key. Shift is pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic) with an integral air valve built into the unit. The series offers 9 speed ratios, 18 shift options, and the most popular direct-mount and driveshaft output configurations. Direct-mount options support optional wet-spline technology for extended PTO and pump shaft life. Driveshaft outputs include a positive stop to prevent seal damage from driveshaft yokes. Typical market applications include aerial lifts, construction equipment, towing and recovery, water trucks, and home fuel oil delivery trucks.
