The Chelsea 282XMAJX-A5XD or 282XMAJXA5XD is an 8-bolt medium-duty hot-shift power take-off assembly from the Chelsea 282 Series, compatible with Allison, Volvo/Mack, and Eaton/Fuller transmissions, as well as other manufacturers. It accepts pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic) actuation and delivers up to 300 lb-ft (407 Nm) continuous torque and 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm) intermittent torque. Shaft power output is 29 HP (21 kW) at 500 RPM and 57 HP (43 kW) at 1,000 RPM. The 1-1/4" round output shaft uses a 5/16" key. Features include an integral air valve, rotatable flanges, a wet-spline option for extended shaft life, and a Smart Start option for high-torque start-up.
