The Chelsea 288 Series Power Take-Off, part number 288GBFJP-M5XD or 288GBFJPM5XD, is a heavy-duty 10-bolt constant mesh PTO built on the 281 Series platform. Its continuous duty torque rating reaches up to 390 lb-ft, supported by wider gears and larger capacity bearings than the 287 Series it replaces. Ductile iron bearing caps are 117% stronger than gray iron, and an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap reduces vibrational effects from modern engine designs. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high ranges. The output shaft features a positive stop design to prevent oil seal damage from driveline couplings.
