The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the adapter plate found on earlier designs, reducing potential leak paths and installation time. This unit uses a wire/cable mechanical shift and delivers an intermittent torque rating of 250 lb-ft (339 Nm) for the 489 Series. The 1-1/4" round output shaft accepts a key, and shaft power measures 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load capacity.
