The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489XHITX-H3XD or 489XHITXH3XD, is an 8-bolt PTO assembly designed for manual transmissions including Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the adapter plate and its associated leak path. Shift is wire/cable mechanical. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round with key, and the unit delivers up to 48 HP (36 kW) at 1,000 RPM with an intermittent torque rating of 250 lb-ft (339 Nm) for this series. Strong tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series, which simplifies parts stocking.
