The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off, part number 489XHITX-H5XD or 489XHITXH5XD, is an 8-bolt PTO assembly designed for manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Volvo, Mack, and other compatible units. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Shift is wire/cable mechanical. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round configuration with key. Shaft power ratings are 24 HP at 500 RPM and 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. The 489 Series uses tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for improved load-bearing capability, and internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series.
