The Chelsea 489ZQDAX-A5XQ or 489ZQDAXA5XQ is a 489 Series Power Take-Off assembly designed for manual transmissions with an 8-bolt PTO mounting aperture, including Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and Tremec applications. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and removing a potential leak path. Wire/cable mechanical shift operates the unit, and the 1-1/4" round output shaft accepts a key. The 489 Series delivers intermittent torque in the 201-300 lb-ft range and shaft power of 24 HP at 500 RPM or 48 HP at 1,000 RPM. Tapered output bearings handle the load where needle bearings typically would not. Internal components are common to the Chelsea 442 Series, simplifying parts sourcing.
