The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. This unit uses an 8-bolt integral housing and delivers intermittent torque in the 201-300 lb-ft (301-400 Nm) range, matching the torque capacity of the 442 Series. The 489 Series relies on tapered bearings rather than needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. Output is through a 1-1/4" round shaft. Shift is wire/cable mechanical.
