The Chelsea 878 Series Power Take-Off, part number 878XCFJP-M5XV or 878XCFJPM5XV, is a constant mesh PTO engineered to mount on Allison and CAT 10-bolt transmissions. The 878 Series carries a continuous duty torque rating of up to 670 lb-ft, the highest torque capability in the smallest available package for this transmission family. The housing is cast iron, the bearing cap is ductile iron, which Chelsea rates 117% stronger than the gray iron used in prior designs. An o-ring sealing configuration sits between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load and reduce vibrational effects. The steel discs in the clutch pack are 80% thicker than the previous 877 Series generation. Nine speed ratios are available across the series, covering both low and high speed applications.
