Muncie EX Drive Shaft Extensions

The Muncie EX Drive is a shaft extension for a PTO on an Allison 3000 or 4000 series transmission. It lets a large gear pump or piston pump mount directly to the PTO, so the truck needs no driveline or front engine drive to run it. It fits Allison 3000 and 4000 transmissions with or without a retarder and with or without a rear mounted cooler, and it is offered for both clutch shift and constant drive PTOs.

Reading an EX Drive part number

Muncie builds the part number in blocks. Using XS10-A30XX-X3CCRX as the example:

• XS10 is the PTO the extension is built for. XS10 is for the CS10 and XS41 is for the CS41.
• A30XX is the transmission. A30XX is the Allison 3000 series and A40XX is the Allison 4000 series.
• X3 is the arrangement: 1X right side shaft low, 2X right side shaft high, 3X left side shaft low, 4X left side shaft high.
• The next letter is the output shaft: B is SAE B 7/8 in. 13 tooth spline, P is SAE BB 1.0 in. 15 tooth, C is SAE C 1-1/4 in. 14 tooth, and I is DIN 5462 8 spline.
• The letter after that is the output flange: B is SAE 2/4 bolt, C is SAE C 2/4 bolt, and I is DIN 5462 4 bolt.
• R is the transmission option: R for a retarder, C for a direct mounted cooler, X for none.
• The last letter is the special feature: C adds an output end cover, X is none.
