The Chelsea 272 Series Power Take-Off, part number 272XMDAX-P3RK or 272XMDAXP3RK, is a 6-bolt hot-shift PTO designed for medium-duty commercial applications. It mounts to transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, and RAM, among others. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round with a 5/16" key. Shift is pneumatic (air) or hydraulic PowerShift, and the unit includes an integral air control valve. Continuous torque reaches 300 lb-ft (407 Nm); intermittent torque is rated at 201-300 lb-ft (401-500 Nm). Shaft output power is 57 HP at 1,000 RPM. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates six earlier Chelsea PTO series - the 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 - into a single versatile platform. The series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options. Direct-mount configurations are available with optional Wet-Spline technology for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations include the Smart-Start feature for high-torque start-up conditions, which helps protect equipment under demanding engagement loads. Rotatable flanges allow flexible installation positioning.
