The Chelsea 890 Series is a single-unit design, not a PTO with a bolt-on extension. The main shaft is one piece, which removes the input splines that exist between the PTO body and an output extension on conventional designs. The clutch sits at the rear of the PTO housing, allowing the gear section to tuck tightly against the transmission and keeping the overall package compact where frame-rail clearance is tight. The rear-mounted pump output flange positions the hydraulic pump behind the transmission rather than alongside it, providing additional pump-to-frame clearance. The unit can be ordered for transmissions equipped with or without a cooler, a retarder, or both.
