The Chelsea 890 Series is designed as a single-unit PTO, not a PTO-with-extension. The one-piece main shaft eliminates the intermediate input splines found in conventional side-mounted PTO and extension setups. The clutch is located at the rear of the housing, allowing the gear section to tuck close to the transmission and relocating the pump output to the rear of the transmission for adequate clearance between the pump and the frame rail. An additional rear support bracket is included. Wet Spline Technology is standard on all 890 Series units and is designed to reduce wear on both the PTO output spline and the pump shaft in continuous-duty and high-cycle applications. Typical applications include aerial trucks, fire and rescue, refuse trucks, pumper cleaners, and truck cranes.
