The Chelsea 272 Series power take-off assembly, part number 272XDAJP-P3RK or 272XDAJPP3RK, is a 6-bolt hot shift PTO rated for up to 300 lb-ft of intermittent torque. The 272 Series consolidates multiple prior Chelsea medium-duty PTO lines into one platform, offering nine speed ratios and eighteen shift configurations. It supports both pneumatic and hydraulic shift with an integral air control valve, and rotatable flanges for flexible installation. Direct-mount outputs are available with optional Wet-Spline technology for extended pump shaft life. Driveshaft output configurations include the Smart-Start option for high-torque startup conditions. Common applications include aerial, construction equipment, water trucks, and towing and recovery. The Chelsea 272 Series was developed to replace and consolidate the earlier 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series medium-duty hot shift PTOs into a single, more capable platform.
