The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GDFJW-D5RY or 281GDFJWD5RY, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO built for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly used on Allison transmissions. The 281 Series carries a continuous torque rating of 390 lb-ft (529 Nm) and delivers up to 74 HP at 1,000 RPM. Nine available speed ratios cover both low and high ranges. The ductile iron bearing cap is 117% stronger than gray iron, and an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load while reducing damaging vibrational effects. Clutch pack steel discs are 80% thicker than the predecessor 280 Series, resisting premature tooth wear. Output options include SAE B and SAE C pump flanges, ISO 7652 pump flange, and driveline.
