The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GKFJP-B3SD or 281GKFJPB3SD, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO designed for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly matched to Allison transmissions. The 281 Series builds on the proven 280 Series platform with a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an o-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load, and an 80% thicker clutch pack to resist premature tooth wear. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high ranges. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and a positive stop on driveline outputs protects oil seals from coupling damage. The wet spline lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times, and the optional SmartStart feature reduces shock load at start-up.
