The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GMFJP-G5RF or 281GMFJPG5RF, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, commonly Allison applications. The 281 Series is an evolution of the Chelsea 280 Series, incorporating a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron and an 80% thicker clutch pack steel disk design to resist premature tooth wear. An O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap improves clamp load and reduces the effects of engine vibration. Rotatable cast-iron flanges reduce interference fitment issues, and a Positive Stop feature on driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage from coupling. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high ranges, and the optional Wet Spline Lubrication delivers 7 to 10 times greater shaft life. Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects driven equipment, while SmartStart reduces shock load at startup. Available from Pro Gear and Transmission.
