The Chelsea 281 Series Power Take-Off, part number 281GSFJP-H5XD or 281GSFJPH5XD, is a hydraulically shifted hot-shift PTO engineered for automatic transmissions with a 10-bolt aperture, most commonly Allison and Caterpillar transmissions. As an evolution of the Chelsea 280 Series, the 281 Series raises the bar with a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an enhanced clutch pack featuring 80% thicker steel discs to resist premature tooth wear, and an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load and reduce vibrational effects from modern engine designs. Nine speed ratios cover both low and high speed applications. Rotatable cast-iron flanges improve pump clearance, and a Positive Stop for driveline outputs eliminates oil seal damage at the coupling. The Wet Spline Lubrication option extends shaft life by 7 to 10 times compared to dry configurations. SmartStart reduces shock load at engagement, and Electronic Overspeed Control (EOC) protects downstream driven equipment.
