The Chelsea 282 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 282XKDAX-A5XD or 282XKDAXA5XD, is a medium-duty hot-shift PTO built for demanding continuous-duty applications. It mounts via an 8-bolt pattern and fits transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Volvo/Mack, and other manufacturers. The 1-1/4" round output shaft accepts a 5/16" key. Shift is pneumatic or PowerShift (pneumatic/hydraulic). The Chelsea 282 Series was developed as a redesign of the medium-duty hot-shift PTO line, incorporating the best features of the 238 Series platform. The 282 Series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options. Direct-mount outputs are available with an optional Wet-Spline configuration for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft outputs include a positive stop designed to prevent seal damage from driveshaft yokes. Common applications include aerial equipment, construction machinery, towing and recovery vehicles, water trucks, and home fuel oil delivery trucks.
