The one-piece cast iron housing eliminates the adapter plate found on older designs, reducing potential leak paths. Shift type is wire/cable mechanical. The 1-1/4" round output shaft (with key) delivers up to 48 HP at 1,000 RPM, with intermittent torque capacity in the 201-300 lb-ft range consistent with the 489 Series rating.
