The Chelsea 489 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 489XLAHX-A3GA or 489XLAHXA3GA, is an 8-bolt PTO designed for manual transmissions including Eaton Fuller, Mack, and Tremec. The one-piece cast iron housing bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, eliminating the need for an adapter plate and reducing potential leak paths. Shift type is wire/cable mechanical. The 1-1/4" round output shaft with key delivers up to 48 HP at 1,000 RPM, with intermittent torque capacity characteristic of the 489 Series at 250 lb-ft. Strong tapered bearings replace needle bearings for greater load-bearing capability. Internal parts are common to the Chelsea 442 Series.
