The 878 Series is Chelsea's evolution of the proven 877 Series PTO platform. Improvements include an 80% increase in steel disc thickness within the clutch pack, a ductile iron bearing cap replacing the previous gray iron cap, and an upgraded o-ring seal at the housing-to-bearing-cap interface. These changes directly address vibrational stress associated with modern engine designs. The 878 Series is applied across snow and ice control, vacuum trucks, aerial equipment, and refuse vehicles.
