The Chelsea 272MBAJP-D5RY or 272MBAJPD5RY is a 272 Series 6-bolt hot shift power take-off assembly designed for medium-duty applications including towing and recovery, aerial work, construction equipment, and water trucks. It mounts to transmissions from Allison, Eaton/Fuller, Ford, Aisin, Volvo/Mack, and RAM, among others. The output shaft is a 1-1/4" round shaft with a 5/16" key. Shift is pneumatic or pneumatic/hydraulic (PowerShift), with an integral air control valve included. The 272 Series supports continuous torque up to 300 lb-ft and intermittent torque in the 201-300 lb-ft range; check application pages for actual torque ratings on your specific installation. The Chelsea 272 Series consolidates the earlier 230, 231, 236, 238, 270, and 271 Series medium-duty hot shift PTOs into a single platform. The series offers nine speed ratios and eighteen shift options. Direct-mount configurations are available with an optional Wet-Spline interface for extended PTO and pump shaft service life. Driveshaft output configurations include the Smart-Start feature for high-torque start-up conditions. Flanges are rotatable for flexible installation.
