The Chelsea 282XMAJX-J3XV or 282XMAJXJ3XV is a 282 Series medium-duty hot shift Power Take-Off assembly. The 282 Series supports pneumatic or hydraulic (PowerShift) shift operation and mounts via an 8-bolt pattern. Output shaft options within the series include a 1-1/4 in. round shaft with 5/16 in. key or a 1 in. round shaft with 1/4 in. key. Intermittent torque capability for the 282 Series reaches 300 lb-ft (approximately 401-500 Nm). The series offers nine speed ratios and 18 shift options, making it suited for aerial, construction, towing and recovery, water truck, and fuel oil delivery applications. The Chelsea 282 Series was developed as a redesign of the medium-duty hot shift PTO line, combining elements of the 238 Series with upgraded components. The moving parts are built to handle up to 300 lb-ft continuously or intermittently. Common markets served include aerial lifts, construction equipment, towing and recovery, water trucks, and home fuel oil delivery trucks. Direct mount configurations offer optional Wet-Spline technology to extend service life on the PTO and pump shaft interface. Driveshaft output configurations include a positive stop designed to prevent seal damage from driveshaft yokes.
