The Chelsea 878 Series Power Take-Off Assembly, part number 878XBFJP-M5RZ or 878XBFJPM5RZ, is a constant mesh PTO engineered for Allison and CAT 10-bolt transmissions. Designed as a direct improvement over the 877 Series, the 878 features a ductile iron bearing cap rated 117% stronger than gray iron, an O-ring sealing configuration between the housing and bearing cap to improve clamp load and resist vibration, and steel clutch disc thickness increased by 80%. The cast iron housing supports nine speed ratios spanning low and high ranges. Rotatable cast iron flanges reduce interference clearance issues, and the driveline output design includes a positive stop to prevent oil seal damage.
